Regarding Chinese stone tablets and Western monuments alike, the monumentality represents culture, civilisation and history, and the immortality of these human notions. Yet as time goes, the man-made monuments would inevitably be subject to ruination and eventually obliteration. The characters on the Zheng Ji Xuan stone tablet are utterly unrecognisable, and the recent conservation practises in fact accelerated the damaging process.

2015年，塔可在济宁小汉碑室拍摄了汉代中平三年（公元186年）所立的郑季宣碑。东方的碑碣或是西方的纪念碑所蕴涵的“纪念碑性”是人类文明及历史的典型代表，象征着并见证了人类文明中“不朽”的一面。东西方的人类先民，不约而同的选择将文字信息凿刻在石头上，企图籍着这个坚固的媒材，让所赞颂铭刻的人事，传之不朽。但是这些出自于自然，经历人类改造的碑石，终将因岁月的推移饱受自然力量的侵蚀，最终走向湮灭。郑季宣碑上的字迹，历经近两千年的风雨剥蚀，已模糊难辨，而侵蚀形成的肌理，仿佛又让其复归了自然。
